[personality]
William is a perfectionist- he desires to constantly reform and improve. He is an idealist who strives to make order out of the chaos that demons are constantly causing. William is also a workaholic. Everything he does is somehow related to his work. He is often the first one to be found in the office and the last one to leave it as well- often earning himself excess overtime.

William has a fine eye for detail- almost a too keen set of eyes if you ask his coworkers--Ronald Knox even mentioned at the end of the Circus arc that William is hardly ever pleased by anyone. Due to being a perfectionist if anything seems to be out of order, it would trigger his need to fix it. This can be beneficial for all concerned, but which can also prove to be burdensome to those who are on the receiving end of William's efforts. William's inability to achieve the perfection he desires feeds his feelings of shame for not being able to complete his goal, and fuels his subdued anger against his imperfect world. William's anger is therefore vigorously repressed from his consciousness, often written off as being unnecessary, but on occasion it bursts forth in occasional fits of temper often directed at the one who causes the most trouble. For example, this is illustrated by the time Grell had caused all the trouble with in Jack the Ripper arc where William was called upon to rescue Grell from Sebastian. At that time, William appeared to personally inflict as much damage upon Grell as he could while he calmly read of the list of rules that Grell had broken, finishing his lecture by dragging Grell away by his hair.

William is a very serious person; he is highly principled, competent and uncompromising. He believes bringing emotions to the job is not beneficial to work and such an avoidable disruption is unnecessary. He highly frowns upon rule breaking, as it reflects poorly upon his department. Apologizing to a demon for the behaviors of Grell Sutcliff during the Jack the Ripper arc is an example of him forfeiting his personal dislikes of demons just to save face for his department. He follows the rules and expects others to do so as well. Because he believes so thoroughly in his convictions, it makes him a an excellent leader. Unfortunately, William has a hard time relaxing and he unnecessarily denies himself a lot of things just because he is worried about his work. William often represses his emotions, making it hard for him to express the gentler emotions when it is appropriate to do so. Some of the emotions that William has difficulties expressing are companionship, nervousness, and romance.

When William is placed in a situation which is unfamiliar and uncomfortable to him, he would automatically try and find something that he could relate to. Any set of rules would put him at ease and provide him with enough stability to survive in his current surroundings. He has an extreme, almost childish devotion to his own personal space, and because of that William has poor social skills that prevent him from melding well into a crowd, even when undercover. His stiff personality prevents him from interacting with people in and out of work, and in turn others are generally disinclined to interact with him. William is not very capable of lying, and will speak of his job as if it were the weather, despite needing to maintain a low profile. Ironically most do not take him seriously and think he is joking, which is quite the opposite to his character. William lacks the skills needed to understand humor, let alone have the skills to be humorous. William lacks the skills needed to understand humor, let alone have the skills to be humorous. He also lacks what most other people have, empathy, due to being trained to be a death god, beings that maintain order among disorder. Disorder and chaos compromise their work and thus empathy is an unnecessary component. In that respect, anything that does not fit the rules or any similar sort of conformity, William will either do his best to either make the problem orderly or avoid it at all costs. More than likely he will try before giving up, as he is not the sort to give in easily. He has little patience for personalities that hinder the order of life, prime examples being Sebastian or Grell.

[At first the camera is zoomed in a little too close, the corner of a frown the center of the focus before it zooms out to reveal a better image of William.]

Good day to those that are watching this,
My name is William T. Spears, I am one of the newly arrived citizens to this...community of sorts.

[A little fixing to his tie to make sure that it is perfect, which it already was, for this was just a ploy to distract himself from being unnerved at being misplaced.]

I would like to know about any current sense of rules that must be followed here at all times, as well as proper manners that should be displayed. I do not wish to present myself as a fool because of laziness and the inability to gather information about my surroundings.

Carefully and with precise, methodical flicks of a dark blue silk handkerchief, William wiped away the nauseating black and dark green sludge that had splattered across his face. It was the unfortunate result of when he kicked in a head of an rather demanding zombie. One that had the bad sense of timing and unfortunately came across an already foul-tempered management supervisor.

"Note to self: add the cost of dry cleaning and new work shoes to Sutcliffe's bill," William muttered to himself as he used the last clean corner of his favorite handkerchief to clean away the spare flicks of zombie brains off his glasses. Through the now-cleaned lens William's rather sharp bright green eyes could been seen. Some, mostly a lazy and often troublesome rouge field officer, describe his eyes as being cold and soulless. Looking behind him to inspect the messy path that he had cleared, William finally became alert to the soft moans. At first the demands for a certain sugary confection were too soft and easily ignored as mere white noise but now they had gradually increased, as if what was making them was even closer- and judging from the echos they were surrounding him.

It was a fluke that he found out that a piece of chocolate would distract the living dead long enough for him to either escape or to forcibly remove them with a well placed kick. As such, when he found himself awakening to the foul odor of the rotting corpse who was searching through his coat pockets and pulling out his stash of chocolate.William was more upset that his personal space was being invaded than the fact that the ones who were doing the invading were long dead humans.
